People often describe the practice of yoga as a journey. Mine began during a turbulent period, a time I felt disconnected and adrift. And then I started practicing yoga.
I first noticed the physical impact: Flowing through the poses connected body parts that had seemingly operated in isolation. Years-long aches and pains subsided or disappeared entirely. I stood straighter. My energy was better. I felt balanced.
But the impact, the transformation extended far beyond the physical. Conscious and consistent breathing brought me into now, a place where unhelpful memories and nagging anxieties evaporated. Through a regular yoga practice, my physical, mental, and emotional beings started to sync. My yoga journey brought me to new places, ones full of gratitude, equanimity, and self-love.
